Connect
One of the aims of Youth Voice Canterbury is to Connect Young People! The YVC network connects youth with decision-makers, with awesome opportunities to get involved, and with each other. We hold regular regional 'Youth Connect' events throughout the year to bring together out network to share ideas and collaborate. These events are organised by YVC or one of the groups in the network and can include training and workshops, leadership development, learning something new, being consulted on external projects, and usually lots of kai!

Activate - South Island Youth Connect

Activate is our annual South Island Youth Connect. This event generally runs over a weekend, and is available to youth participation groups from all over the South Island! It is a jam packed time, with a variety of workshops and games all aimed at developing the skills of youth participation groups. The event provides a space where groups can interact, share ideas and visions for the youth sector, and learn together.
Activate 2021 was awesome! We are so thankful to all the youth participation groups and participants for coming along and making it such a great time. Big thankyou also to everyone who ran workshops - there was some awesome knowledge being shared in that space and we know the young people attending got a huge amount out of it!
